the minute we crossed the border from North Dakota to Minnesota it became green and hilly.
Minnesota, Turtle
We parked at Detroit Lakes, on a lake. Minnesota has 1500 lakes in the north. Sue at sunset on the lake, sunset on the lake and lily pads
Clouds, bus getting a bath
the bus parked at Maddens.
We went to Maddens resort on Gull Lake www.maddens.com to visit friends of John’s from college. Deb and Brian. They own and run the resort. A beautiful luxury resort with 3 golf courses, 5 lodges, 3 bays, with beaches, restaurants, spa and more. We parked by the lake. It was great to meet them. The resort was full, so they were pretty busy. I had a wonderful massage at the spa. We also met Their son Ben who works on the resort too. And his family when we went out to dinner at a local restaurant.
John took these photos of the mist on the lake in the morning. The Madden lodge, 83 year old really cool building. We stayed the night there while the carpet was being cleaned.
The bus over the pond, a great blue heron in another pond on the resort. They treated us to dinner at the fancy Classic restaurant on the resort.
one of the beaches, Brian and John trying to figure out where we are. Brian took us mountain biking. It was beautiful. thick trees, no landmarks, the boys said we were not lost. . ., but the ride was longer than intended. I fell off my bike into poison ivy. We then had dinner at their lovely lake house.
The bike trail map, we were in the intestine part. . ., Deb with her horse Rebel.
John and Deb hiking on trails on their farm. The same thing happened, thick trees, no landmarks and criss crossing trails. We got lost, but Brian came out on the 4 wheeler and rescued us. He found us by following our shouts. He came straight from work.
Brian gave us a ride back on the 4 wheeler, then decided to try his skate board on the way back to town.
We went back to the resort and played lawn bowling and then had pizza at one of the restaurants on the resort.
We had a good visit with them and the resort was Wonderful.
