Moving along and making some miles so we can make it to Southern California in time for the fruit cake festival in Dec.
Some earrings I made with some of my beads. A retro Welcome to North Bend sign on the coast of Oregon.
Part of a giant pile of logs at a saw mill in Coos Bay. Lumber is one of their big products. We stopped in Port Orford to visit Cats and John. We were going to spend the night and try to have them over for dinner, but they are already busy tonight. So we stopped for a few hours and visited, then headed down the road. We spent a week in this area last time we were through.
John making bread in their new kitchen. Last time through they were remodeling it. John is a baker and sells or barters his bread. We got a tour of the new kitchen, pantry, guest cabin and garden that is all changed since we last visited. At Prehistoric Gardens we barely got away from the T-Rex!
T-rex and brontosaurus. The coast line north of Brookings at the Samuel Boardman State Park.
Our campsite at the Harris Beach State Park. Really nice park on a pretty beach. We camped here for a week last time through. The sun came out today, most sun we have seen in weeks. The trail down to the beach down the cliffs from the campground.
Rugged coast below the campground. The sunset was coming through this cave in the rocks, but the camera does not capture it. The tide is really low, there are tide pools behind me. Last time we were here there were waves crashing through this cave we had to dodge to see the tide pools.
Black turban snails in the tide pool. I have used a number of them in my baskets.
Sea stars, mussels and Barnacles on the rocks below tide line. Looking back at the cliffs with mussels and barnacles on the rock in the foreground.
Sunset on the beach.
