April 15-16, 2019 Bullhead City, Arizona

88 today, partly cloudy and windy. Most of the weekend crowd has left. Still a fair number of people here, but much quieter.

John walking on the beach near camp. We made a couple circuits. It cooler by the water. The basket is moving along. I added a couple more rows and started a purple wrap row.

I made Chinese food tonight for dinner. John BBQed the yakitori I made. He does not over cook the chicken like I do. It was warm enough to eat outside for dinner. The sun is not setting till 630 now. Being light longer makes us eat dinner later and go to be later. Sunset over the river.

More sunset over the river tonight.  We drove over to Kingman, Arizona today. This is Finger mountain on the way over and the way back.

A view closer to the pass with lots of wildflowers. Kingman is on old Route 66 and still has many of the 66 attractions. Here are some views of the signs murals and downtown. Also we saw the House of Hops Tactical Tap Unit truck!

We came to Kingman because it has two breweries that John wanted to visit. First we went to Black Bridge Brewery. Very good beers. John with his IPA and on the phone on the back patio. Then we went to Rickety Cricket brewing. John had an imperial stout there. Both had great beers.

Downtown Kingman, The old Kingman club is where the Rickety Cricket brewery is now. and a train mural on a silo.  We went to the Route 66 museum which was very interesting.

At the museum on of the displays was this Studebaker. On the passenger side window is an old air cooler. You put water in it and the air goes through the water into the car, like a swamp cooler. Also at the museum was a display of old electric vehicles. Many of the companies manufactured the first golf carts. A view on the way back today.

A big rainstorm came through on the way back.  Cooled it down quite a bit.

There were fields of blooming yucca plants. Rain in the campground.
The view toward the casinos in Laughlin down the river from the campground at night.
