April 9-11, 2019 Shoshone, California to Bullhead City,AZ

Beautiful 90's day and sunny.

Ahhhh, the warm spring swimming pool in Shoshone. The trail through the vole habitat is greening up.

Mesquite are starting to leaf out nicely. Through the palm trees in the vole habitat. Looking back at Vole habitat.

Red dragon fly, yellow brittle bush, and a phacelia. The sun back lighting the bushes.

Bright cactus flowers. Water lines through the while salty clay soil.  Some kind of hairy seed head, tall yellow primrose and tiny white desert stars.

Pink monkey flowers, lesser mohavae, desert gold and blue phacelia, a 5 spot. They don't usually open this far, they are usually tulip shaped. A yellow woolly daisy, only 1 inch high.

Toni and I took a drawing with pastels class taught by Mia at the Tecopa Community center today. We had a ball. Toni, me and Mia in front of our finished masterpieces. Top row of masterpieces left to right sunflowers by Suep, Lizard by Toni, sunflowers by Toni and sunflowers done by Mia. The bottom one is lizard and pot by Suep. Of course our heads are in front of my two pieces. So the next photo is Toni's sunflowers, then mine, below my lizard and pot and Toni's lizard.

This eagle is carved on a deer antler. Mia brought it as something we might have wanted to draw. The wind has been howling through here with dust today. Gusts up to 50 mph. The bus has been rocking.s Driving toward the highway we saw this dust storm ahead of us, below is what it looked like inside the storm.
After the drawing class Toni and I went to my house and set some basket centers in resin. When th

I finished both of these projects on the drive down here to Bullhead City.  The basket has a pottery base my friend Susan made for me, glass, silver and magnetite beads. It is 6 x 6 x 6 inches. I am very pleased with how it came out. I also finished the peyote with a twist, not crochet necklace I started in a class at the Expo.

A native american looking RV complete with a buffalo head on the trailer in the campground. Bun Boy Motel in Baker, Ca. Nipton, California with roadside sculptures and cool paint jobs on cars.

The Joshua tree highway in Nevada has huge amounts of blooms. Welcome to Nevada,  oleander blooms, yield to the jet skis at the boat ramp at the campground and some palo verde blooms.

The bus camped at Davis Camp in Bullhead City, AZ. I love this place it feels like camping on the beach. My favorite thing about this campsite is my lawn chair on the beach.

I hung out in the lawn chair and worked on the new masterpiece. It has a piece of fused glass I made in the center and glass beads so far.  This is a 1950's Air Light Trailer that this gentleman had refurbished. It has a flat screen TV and blue ray player on the wall in the back, a commode, and kitchen with refrigerator. The whole things runs mostly on solar.
Sunset tonight over the Colorado River from camp.
