December 8, 2012 Salt Springs State Park, Florida

I was whooped from yesterdays 7 mile paddle, so we hung out here for the day.

I had the brilliant idea to ride on the dirt road next to the park. We took off down the road. Florida does not have dirt, it is all sand. The road was too hard to ride when the sand got a couple inches deep, so we turned around and fought our way up hill through sand back to camp. After that I went to the spring to swim. There were like 30 black vultures in this live oak tree over the spring. They are pretty entertaining to watch.

The spring. The water is 72 degrees. Not bad since it was 75 in the air. I need to go back with my fins and snorkel so I can look down the spring.  A zebra long wing, Florida's state butterfly.
