We spend Memorial day at Aspen Mountain for late season skiing. John rode the gondola up and hung out with the dog on the deck in the sun reading his book. I skied.
Sue and John in front of the gondola on top. John is expressing his displeasure of the ‘white death’. It was in the 70’s, mostly sunny and soft spring snow. Martha, Jimjim and Polly on the gondola ride back down.
Bailey, John and Suep on the gondola ride down. We headed back to Fort Collins on Tues. A couple scenes from I-70 east. Glenwood Canyon, Eisenhower tunnel under the Continental divide and Golden as we came into the Metro area.
Some wildlife along the bike path by the Poudre River on my bike ride. View from the bike path toward Poudre Canyon.
Lovely tree along the bike path. Earrings ready to be fired in my kiln.
John and I walked down to Old Town after dinner and there was a free concert in the new stage on the square. When we left they were still remodeling the square and it was torn apart, it came out nice. My new helmet, my old one broke.
A cute little garter snake along the bike path. After I took his photo I chased him off the path, didn’t want him to get run over. John cooked dinner and we are eating out on our deck, which is really just the landing at the top of the stairs, but there is room for two chairs and two trays.
This weekend we went up Poudre Canyon to a BBQ at the campout celebrating Karen’s retirement. We swore we were not coming back to Colorado until is was warm and green. I think we timed it just right.
Jewelry show at the party. John Gross keeping the sun out of his eyes.
Karen is sort of retired they are saying. She is going to half time. This is her cake with retirement at the top of the mountain and Phased retirement at the bottom.
Today I drove to Denver and went to a meeting of the Glass Artist Fellowship. It was acutally a picnic at Leslie Bitgood’s studio. She does flame worked glass. We got to pig out, socialize and view beautiful glass.
After we ate. I walked around my old neighborhood and was pleased to see my old house looks pretty much like it did when I lived in it.
I am staying with my friend Katy so I can shop tomorrow at the whole sale glass store and stock up. I am playing with Wallace her cute kitty.
