65 and mostly sunny.
I finished this basket. It is made from dyed pine needles, polyester thread, gem stone chips, glass and metal beads, sliced walnuts filled with turquoise made by friend Pam, and the center is three turquoise beads surrounded by gemstone chips. It is 9 x 7 x 2 inches. I sold it right away and didn't get a good photo of it. Sunset started out well, but then faded away.
The ravens hang out at the dumpsters. They all fly off when you get there. But I caught these three. I finished this basket last night. It sold before it was done, so I only got a bad photo of it at night. It is made from dyed pine needles, local grasses, polyester thread, gold stone horses, gem stone bears and handmade beads from Chile. The center is apiece of slate tile that I sandblasted and painted petroglyphs on. It is 10 x 10 x 2 1/2 inches.
The beginnings of sunset with rain from the Goodwill parking lot in Pahrump. Sunset over Shoshone with rain.
High of 55 and raining. There has been a bit of flooding,. So far the closest weather station at the Tecopa Yacht Club has recorded .46 inches of rain in the last 2 days. Not too bad in Shoshone but there is water running across the road and there is mud and puddles.
Rain and puddles.
View of rain. The flowers are delighted with the rain.
62 and sunny. I decided to walk the wetland trails here in Shoshone and see how they survived the rain. It was very wet and muddy. These two shots are the river running over the trail. The top one there had been about a 3 foot stream, now it is about 10 feet. Both approaches through the clay soil are slick as ice. This are had been dry. Nice waterfall now.
I cut back and took another trail and the water is across it too. So I bush wacked to try and get back. At this point I am between the two main channels. There was water everywhere in braided channels. It was very pretty.
When I finally got to a trail I checked this crossing that had been dry and it was also uncross able.
Sun going down. Sunset and palm.
Moon caught in the tree. Waxing gibbous moon. The phone takes a better moon photo when it is bit darker out.
Sunset over Lake Robby.
