December 19-22, 2024, Tularosa, New Mexico

 High of 64 and sunny.

We are now parked in Tularosa, New Mexico at Mountain Meadow RV park. All the state park etc were booked up for the holidays, so we are at a commercial RV park. It is not too bad, away from the highway, not full, so there is room around us and we have a tree and picnic table. There are a ton of things that have to be stowed, checked , disconnected etc. when we put out each time. Missing any of them can cause all kinds of problems. Today we forgot to unplug the cord from the post when we pulled out. The male plug in broke and came off the end. But luckily Roswell has a trailer supply store and John was able to get another one and he was able to  fixed it when we arrived here. Early in our RV days we forgot to put the tow car in neutral and the engine and transmission blew up, so this was pretty minor compared to that.

Our backyard here. Sunset tonight.

Our front yard are nice  Christmas lights. After John fixed the hitch that fell off in traffic, the hitch has been hanging too low and dragging on the ground. John got a new receiver and replaced it today. It is now much higher. And the old one was bent. Thanks for fixing it darling.

I finished this yesterday. It is made from dyed pine needles, polyester thread, glass beads and the center is a dichroic glass lizard I cast. It is 9 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches.  Very colorful. Sunset.

Sacramento mountains, on our way to Cloudcroft, NM. We stopped to check out Cloudcroft ski area. The map, the area from the road and what is open- tubing hill and bunny hill all on manmade snow. Had a fair crowd of people enjoying the snow and outdoors.

We had a nice pizza lunch at Cloudcroft brewing. John with his IPA. On the way back we drove by the worlds largest pistachio at Pistachio land. There are many pistachio orchards and retail places here.

We saw these huge hands sticking out of the ground in front of Weed World on our way to Tularosa the other day, There was lots of other weird stuff, but these were the weirdest. We had dinner with friends from Cody and Fort Collins tonight. John, James, Donna and Heidi. Great to see them and their lovely home.

John, Donna, Heidi and Suep. Jim and Donna were our hosts.  We had a great visit.

At the 'children's' table, Addy, James, John, Julie, Heidi and Cora. At the adult table Duane, John, Heidi, Donna, Jim and Barb. Delicious dinner.
