November 9 2012 Myrtle Beach Beach

We ventured out to Costco and the banks today. Myrtle Beach is like on great big crowded strip mall. John went out later to get the mail, go to an oyster bar and brewery while I sunbathed on the beach.

Christmas just doesn’t sound right on the beach. Should be in the snowy mountains. The beach at Myrtle Beach state park. The green stuff are palmettos, South Carolina is the palmetto state.

Fishing pier at the park. The South Carolina license plate and flag have the palm tree with the crescent moon, like on the umbrella at the beach snack bar. I think I see why. Perhaps these palms are palmettos?

up the boardwalk, over the dune to the beach. Thru the sea oats. The sea oats hold the dune in place. The dune protects the land from the storm surges, and the sea turtles and birds lay their eggs in the dunes. There are no dunes where the coast is developed.

Dinner. Whole wheat pizza crust, tomatoe paste mixed with pesto for the sauce, sautéed onions, sweet peppers, chopped up chicken that had been stuffed with feta, tomatoes and 4 kinds  of cheese, since I didn’t have enough mozzarella.
