Yesterday since we were waiting for parts we drove the bus to Ocala to the transmission place to get the seal replaced. Saves us waiting around all weekend and then going next week. It was 81 degrees, so I worked on the basket in the sun when we got back. Today we woke up to fog, drizzle, wind, much cooler.
This is the entrance to the western themed square at the Villages. I rode my bike over near sunset to take pictures of the cows. The Villages is this master planned retirement community here. 90,000 people live in it. They have these different themed squares, 39 golf courses, every store, Dr., school, rec center, classes etc. you could ever want. They have their own radio station with Fox news that they pipe in everywhere. They have live music with dancing in the squares every night from 5-9 .And lots and lots of real estate. You can ride your golf cart anywhere in the villages, even on some of the streets with the cars. It is so controlled it feels like it is not real, like Disneyland or the Stepford wives or something. These bronze cows are pretty cool. They even had a cattle guard!
More of the cows. They said it is themed after the cowboys who used to be in central Florida. This was before the land development explosion. I think of cowboys a little farther west than here. Today for fun John crawled under the sink to check out the pipes.
Then for excitement we went to the Villages and took the one hour trolley tour of place. Unbelievable. I suppose if you liked this sort of thing it is really cool. During the tour the lady asked John which activities he would be interested if he lived here. He wanted to say- Not a F---ing thing, but he was polite and said maybe take some classes. Here is a golf cart crossing sign on the road.
