For some unfathomable reason I got up at 630A today. I never get up early. So as not to waste the opportunity I went down to the beach for the sunrise.
Before it rose, rising behind the outlying fog
Here it comes up through the fog. Some of yesterdays sandcastles in the sunrise.
Seagulls watching the sunrise, In the afternoon we again rode our bikes out to the east end of the island. 10 miles round trip on an old road that is part old asphalt and part sand. It is closed to cars, except with a special permit. Lovely ride. John at the east end. It was 74 today, and sunny. Heavenly. It is about 10 degrees home in Colorado.
There was a bird party at the point. Pelicans, seagulls and terns. They got a little ruffled at me walking up the beach.
They said shelling is good at the east end. It is OVERWHELMING!
My new camera came in today. It is the latest in the Olympus toughs. Just in case I put a silicon cover on it, got a tough case, a floating wrist strap and a 2 year spill, drop etc. warranty. The last camera did not survive me, perhaps this one will. It is charging. The following photos were taken with it. A shell taken on macro.
A set of shells. I am formulating in my mind a pine needle piece with spirals and these shells. Perhaps a wall hanging. John cooking dinner. He made a massive meat loaf and then smoked it.
This is a test of the low light function on the new camera. Not bad.
