We stopped in Kalispell, Montana to stock back up on supplies. We stayed at a commercial RV park which was a shock after the nice quiet spot on Holland Lake. It was a nice park, lots of trees, but still pretty packed in. Historic downtown Kalispell.
Welcome to Idaho. The bus at the Mudhole campground on the Pend Oreille river. It was not a mudhole, but a nice grove of red cedar, almost like small redwoods.
Sunset light over the swimming hole on the river. It was a hot day and we spent some time this afternoon in the water. The next night we visited the trail crew at the Priest River Experimental Forest. I worked as a cook for a week for a couple summers here with the trail crew. The last two years they have invited me back, but we have been on the road. It was all the same guys and it was great to visit with them. The lodge here was built in 1935 and still in prime condition. Really a pretty place.
The kitchen in the bunk house where I cooked. A cake job for a camp cook. The guys pointed out that it took two cooks to replace me!
The bus at Priest Lake campground. We got the last spot. We pulled at 11 am during the week and it was full, we drove in anyway, the host said there was a spot for one night. The people next to the spot had paid for tonight, but were leaving in the afternoon, so we nabbed it for the weekend. John fixing the awning, when I opened it a nut fell off, so he replaced it and tightened all the rest.
