We stopped west of Tucson to stock up on food.
The motor home at the Diamond J RV park. It is right south of Tucson Mountain Park, which is just south of Arizona-Sonoran desert Museum and Saguaro National Park. We got these San Marzano tomatoes. I read a really good recipe in a romance novel I was reading (True Believer by Nickolas Sparks) 2 cans of these, a cube of butter and two onions-skinned and cut in half. Nothing else. Throw it all in a pot, simmer covered for a few hours and it is the best red sauce I have ever eaten. We usually serve it with fresh parmesan and chopped fresh basil over pasta. John made meat ball calzones the other night with it. Yum yum.
One of the trails out of the RV park into Tucson Mountain park. I loved this saguaro with Micky Mouse ears.
Beautiful sunset. I found these twin barrel cactus.
The new moon rose an hour later than last night, so it is smaller in the photos. The first is a silhouette of a chain fruit cholla with the moon at the very top and the moon over the bus at the end of sunset.
