February 7, 2013 Palmetto Island State Park, Louisiana

It rained all night last night. It sounded really nice. We slept like babies. It was foggy in am, and then it burnt off and was a beautiful day.

Decided to boat on the canoe trails. Here is the canoe launch and one of the picnic pavilions.

There are 4 backpack campsites on the edge of Lake Lafleur here in the photo, buzzards sitting above us as we paddled by.

Shopping in Abbeville (the most Cajon place on earth) at the Richard’s custom meats for boudin and tasso I found Hog Lard is only $4 a gallon, at Winn Dixie Mardi Gras King cake- it has a small plastic baby in it and the guest that gets the baby has to throw next years party, and Mr Porker Barbecued pork skins. Yes we are in the south!
