May 4, 2015 Denver, Colorado

Woo Hoo!! John arrived  today with our new home. He is leaving it at the Cummins dealer for updating work on the drive train. I picked him up and took him to the airport where he picked up his van he left when he flew to Florida to look at the new bus.

It is a little darker on the outside than our last coach and does not have the lexon shield on the front. Other than that it looks the same as the last coach, except that this new one has the lower half  of the front the old one lost in the accident and the wheel and generator are in the right position. A photo reminder of why we got a new  bus.  The bus, car on the back and the car that hit us are totaled. The insurance gave us a very fair settlement on the old one. It covered the cost of the new bus and it will cover part of the cost to replace all the old hoses, filters, worn out parts, updates and modifications the old one had. John had just finished getting the last one  updated to how he wanted it. Can’t complain , we are grateful to be alive and not injured. It was a miracle. I wanted to name the new bus the Phoenix, since it rose from the ashes of the old one, but John wants to keep the same name, the Penguin.

The layout inside is identical. The woodwork is walnut instead of the maple we had before. It might be a nice change. The slides are not out, so this area will be 18 inches wider when it is out. This is the cleanest and most uncluttered you will ever see John’s sitting area by the recliner. The passenger seat in front of his chair and the drivers seat turn around to become part of the living room.He says the lamp with the shell and the magazine rack will be the first thing to go. We will hang the fabric organizer with a million pockets I made for the other coach on the wall by his chair. That is all he will allow me to do to organize his space.

Under John’s food and beer  is the cover over  the stove top. Under the two covers on the right is a double sink. Same microwave/convection oven that I already know how to use. This refrigerator is smaller than our last one, but it has a cabinet and drawers for storage next to it. Notice the mirrors on the wall by the fridge. The storage  space outside the fridge may be more useful.  Oh boy we can bring more stuff. The shower is next to the fridge. There is a pocket door that can be closed between them.

The bathroom. Maybe we can get those mirrors by the bathroom sink  and over the stove replaced with tile. We don’t really like all the mirrors on the bus (our old one had them too) but we might need  to keep some of them,to keep the dark woodwork from making it too dark inside. The bedroom has a queen sized bed. We are going to replace the mattress with the one we currently have in our living room of our sticks and bricks house from the old coach. Again the slide is not out, the bedroom is two feet wider when it is in this photo.

When Cummins is done with the bus we will take it to Fort Collins and move our possessions back into it, then drive it to Oregon Motor Coach in Oregon and have more updates and modifications done to the coach part.  Get it to the same way the Penguin was, plus a few more things we always wanted. Like maybe a solar system, new inverter, batteries and maybe a wood floor.  What the heck we will be living in it. Soon too.
