May 5-14, 2015 Fort Collins, Colorado

The new (used)  bus is still at Cummins in Denver getting drive train work done on it.  Fluids, filters, hoses, brake pads etc and being updated.

John pulling the hydraulic braking mechanism (makes the car brake when the bus brakes) and the bike rack off the old subaru. The insurance company will come get the car and give us a check for it since it was totaled the same accident that totaled the bus.  He also took the plate off the bottom that was attached to the towing attachments. We can’t use these on the new car, they are year/brand  specific, but he can trade them in or sell them. The modifications to tow the car are pricey.

I spent the day turning the compost bins. I put finished compost of the garden bed. When I ever come back and garden here the soil will be really rich.

John got a new smoker and is smoking a brisket here. The one he got last year was stolen out of the back yard. He put a screw in stake in the ground and locked this one to it.  Cool clouds at sunset.

I met Katy and Rosie again at Arapahoe Basin ski area and skied. A-Basin is the only ski area still open now in Colorado and the snow is great.  It is still 100% open.

It has been raining for about three weeks now on the front range. Usually there is some sun every day in Colorado, but not much these last few weeks.  Tonight the sun came out and made these lovely rainbows. the rainbow is landing on the new car and our house.  The red one is a garage down the alley.

A sunny day!! We went hiking in the foot hills at Reservoir Ridge park in the foothills. The early wildflowers were lovely.

John at the top of the ridge looking over into Poudre river valley. It was nice to see blue skies.

Some of the wildflowers from today.  Sand lilies, blue chicory, fringed pucoon, wall flower, white vetch and blue pentstamens. John having dinner on our deck on the new TV trays I got at the thrift shop. Our deck is really the top landing to the stairs and these trays fit perfectly.  Nice way to watch sunset.
