We are still here at Oregon Motor Coach. We are waiting on some door handles for the closet and the motor for a curtain that are ordered, and should be in Tues. Maybe we can take off next week. Leslie and Scott are keeping us entertained,so it is not so bad. John pointed out that it is 6 months since the Penguin was totaled. We have come a long way since then. The Penguin II is looking good.
Before and after’s of the new tile replacing the mirrors around the bathroom sink and kitchen stove and sink. Looks fabulous. They did a great job.
Scott and John in front of new mural of Ken Kesey in downtown Springfield , Oregon. He went to high school here. I am inspecting the new solar panels on top of the bus.
We visited the Oregon Air and Space museum in Eugene. Lots of cool airplanes. Many of these big ones are excellent scale models of the real thing. There was also this collection of around 600 scale model airplanes built by David Galbraith. They are unique in that they are all the same scale, so you can compare the size of each plane.
John with a Russian MiG at the Air and Space museum. The next day was not a good day. We drove the bus to get tire sensors put on it and the radiator hose came off. We lost around 7 gallons of expensive RV antifreeze and the engine overheated. The radiator hose had been replaced in Denver. John is in negotiation with them to pay for the antifreeze. It is really lucky that it did not ruin the engine. We were fortunate to be almost to Oregon Motor Coach when it happened, they fixed it. Later in the day our slides would not go out. They fixed that the next day, it was a fuse, then the hydraulic leveling system would not work. Not sure what that was, but they fixed it that afternoon. It is really nice that these things went out while were were here instead of on the road. But how frustrating.
Beautiful sunset over the parking lot. The next day Leslie, me and John all got pedicures. It cheered us up after the stressful the day before.
The aftermath of the pedicures. Leslie and I went biking on the bike path at Dorris Ranch near Springfield. Beautiful place, and day to be out.
Seen at First Friday Art walk in Eugene, a dress made out of playing cards and John and I posing with a piece called ‘The tourists’. It is us!
Many of the bus stops in Eugene are held up by people. During the art walk we ran into the 2015 Slug Queen. Apparently there is a contest once a year. There used to be a parade, but not anymore, so not sure what else the Queen position entails now.
I converted Leslie to hooping for exercise. Here is the hoop making team of Leslie, Scott and John making the hoops and testing the products.
John and Leslie taught Rhody to jump through the hoop. It started out ok, me doing three hoops, but it went south fast.
