A record of our travels in the Penguin. John's mother's nickname was the Penguin and since she made the RV happen, we named the bus after her.

March 7-8, 2017 Kelso Dunes, Mohave National Preserve to Shoshone, California
We drove down route 66- it’s painted on the road to the Mohave National Preserve to the Kelso Dunes where we are camped. It started out as a 3 hour drive, but due to a missed turn it was a 5 hour drive. The bus at the Kelso dunes free BLM dispersed camping. The posts in front of the bus are where the wilderness area starts.
Wind ripple marks in the sand. Road runner tracks on the dunes, close up and farther away, a couple of tracks that criss cross. I think the one is kangaroo rat, but not sure what the other one is. The curly dock are blooming. This round circle is made from the wind blowing a tiny plant around in circles and a beetle with a big shadow.
Sunset and a view of the dunes from the bus.
The same mountain during sunset as the light changed.
The sunsets grand finale. The Harvey house in Kelso, California.
Bunch of Mohavea , clump of mohavea, monkey flower and desert gold. Mohavea and desert star , Mohave aster, white evening primrose and yellow evening primrose.
