January 1-3, 2022 Tacna, Arizona

58 And sunny. A bit windy which made it chilly.

Sunset tonight. John found two of my  basket centers. . .

59 and sunny today. We saw the Antelope Hill Petroglyphs today. A few of the petroglyphs. Notice one has more current names from passing white men. Many of them had dates that were in the 1800's.

Tinajas or pot holes with rain water. The animals in the area depend on those for water. Vultures flying overhead.

Brittle bush flowers, wooly daisies. a petroglyph and one signature from 1849. Sunset in the campground tonight.

Official photos of the latest masterpiece. It has a center of fall leaves set in resin. It is made with natural and dyed pine needles, glass and painted lava beads and a golden aspen leaf on the side. It is 9 x 3 inches.

Side view of the masterpiece. It was 63 degrees and sunny today. I rode my bike around the RV park roads for awhile. I decided to fix the leaking back tire. I was going to replace the tube with a spare we had in the car. Had to fight the darn tire off, I think it melted to the rim, then shrunk. The tube had to be peeled out, it stuck to the inside of the tire. Of course the spare was not the right sized tube and the leak was around the valve so I could not patch it. So had to wrestle it back together so it would fit in the bike rack. Spent my time on the tire than I did riding.

Started a new basket. The photo does not show the colors well. The needles are a kind of gray olive drab not the red color in this photo. But I think they will look good in the basket when it is done.
