March 5-7, 2023 Death Valley, California

74, sunny and way too windy. 40-60 mph gusts.

I put the finishing touches on the basket. It is made from dyed and natural pine needles, polyester thread and ceramic beads. The center is a piece of glass I fused. It is 11 x 3 1/2 inches. I am pleased with how it came out. Don't buy your fuel in Death Valley, it is $7.86 a gallon for diesel, phacelia by the visitors center, Wind blown desert gold by the campground, Not sure what hese rock piles are, I think I heart ?

73 degrees at the visitors center. A small waterfall at the Furnace Creek Gold Course. Amazingly enough there were people playing golf in these high winds.

Palm trees thrashing around in the wind on the golf course. John walking down the street at the Furnace Creek Ranch.

The almost full moon rising in the east. Sunset was very colorful tonight.

Almost full moon in the sunset. Back in Shoshone the full moon rising with last light on the Nopah and Resting Springs range.

Judy picked up Jill at the airport in Las Vegas today. We had a dinner of many left overs on the Primrose Patio tonight. John, Judy, Jill and Judy. Sunset tonight.

High of 64 and sunny. Cooler up here than in Death Valley. We went on a hike with the THC. Sheepshead mountain. Roger blazing straight up the hill. The rest of us kind of switchbacked.

Roger, Toni, John and Susan. Toni and Susan are seated on some rock benches. We came to see this rock circle.

Toni and Susan at the rock circle. We hiked to this formation called the whistler. The mouth is kind of pursed like someone whistling.

Lunch on the ridge. Roger and John in the Whistler's mouth.

View from the ridge. This cool tree was painting on a hillside on the way back home.

Sunset tonight.
