We have arrived at Furnace Creek Inn in Death Valley. My favorite thing about this place is this pool. It is warm spring water and the flow is high enough they don’t need chlorine. It is heavenly. Jill-Judy’s daughter - my niece and Gabriella enjoying margaritas at the pool. The two women are astrophysicists who work at Harvard in Cambridge. They had a record amount of snow there this winter. Jill said recently it actually warmed up to 40 degrees a couple days. They think it is heavenly too.
First light on the Panamint mountains from the patio in front of our room. The view from Zabriski point this morning where we started our hike this morning.
Gower Gulch on our hike. Gabriella, John and Judy hiking down Gower Gulch.
Looking up Gower Gulch. John silhouetted at the mouth of the canyon looking into Death Valley.
The gardens at Furnace Creek Inn. Happy hour in front of our room. Jill, Wanda (park archeologist) John, Laurie, Gabriella, and Judy.
We moved happy hour into the shade, Jill, Gabriella, Sue, Laurie, Wanda and Judy. We had dinner in the Inn dining room to celebrate Judy’s birthday.
