Arrggg. We were going to leave on Fri the 14th and pick up the bus. But no. They measured wrong and when they went to install the floor the flooring was 3 feet too short. So they had to reorder it. So maybe it will be done a week later. . . .
I went to my friend Sylvia’s garage sale and set up my jewels. I only sold some out of the on sale basket, but that is better than nothing.
Sylvia’s cat sat on the ladder and guarded the clothes. My tomato plants are taller than I am now. Yum yum home grown tomatoes.
Sunset. I harvested some of the basil and made pesto. Also nabbed a few tomatoes.
I drove up to Summit county in the mountains west of Denver and stayed with my friend Katy at her condo. This meadow of wildflowers is by the condo. The next day we met Rosie and we hiked up McCulloch gulch, just south of Breckenridge. Here is Rosie, Barney-Katy’s dog and Katy crossing a bridge. The flowers on the hike were spectacular.
Me, Katy, Barney and Rosie at McCulloch falls. Barney at the lake above the falls.
Katy and Barney rock climbing around the lake. A field of blue chiming bells and yellow scencio, and lots and lots of willows.
In the middle of the creek there were even flowers. Looking back at the lake from our lunch spot.
Coming back around the lake. I then drove all the way back to Fort Collins and caught this sunset.
Some of the flowers. Yellow sun flowers, monks hood and bistort together, star gentian, blue gentian from the side and on top, upside down sunflowers, arctic gentian, and a mix of flowers.
Arctic gentian from the side. They are the last flower to bloom in the alpine before fall. Perry’s primrose, dusky penstamen and elephant heads. When I got home I pulled this out of my kiln. It is another bowl of my old house. I gave the other one away. This one will go in the Echter’s show and if it does not sell I get to keep it.
