I am trying out the new Open live writer, it is the new version of windows live writer that I used to use to write my blogs and is much better than the blogger software that comes with this blog. Mostly it handles photos better. We will see how it works.
It seems to have worked so well I went back and redid all the posts I did with blogger software and fixed them. Unless you saw the old ones before I deleted them you won’t even know.
We heard that the wild flowers were blooming in southern Death Valley. They usually bloom in March, not December. So we drove down to see if it was true.
There were in fact flowers once we went down. Nice view on the say down. Huge sand Verbenas.
Desert Gold at the bottom of the pass and by Ashford Mill. Seemed to be only in the extreme southern part of the valley. But astonishing for December.
Sue, Mac,Rod and John after lunch at Ashford Mill.It was in the 50's, sunny and warm.
Sand verbena, desert gold, creosote and forget me nots. Desert Gold-they are very tall this year, pink and white sand verbena and evening primrose.
Mac, Rod, Judy and John on New Years Eve. We stayed up to watch the ball drop on Times Square-which is 9 PM here. A new smiley face on the hills between Shoshone and Tecopa.
This afternoon we went to George Ross's 90th birthday party at the Shoshone Museum. This is part of a slide show about George. Judy and George during the slide show.
Ila feeding George frosting from his 90th birthday cake. The next day I went to see the Gypsy Time Travlers show. The Castle is named Florence the Freightliner. They built her themselves. They live in her 9 months out of the year and travel around doing shows. The turrets are the slides, they slide up and are the bedrooms. There is a forge and whole blacksmith shop for Micheal who is a blacksmith.
The shows consist of Christine telling wonderful stories while Michael makes trinkets in the blacksmith shop in the RV. They raffle off the trinkets after the show. They are very entertaining. I sat with Sam and Robin.
After the snow the sky did a nice show for sunset over Grimshaw wetlands. The water is very salty, so the dirt around the wetlands looks like this.
More sunset show. After that there was singing around the campfire in the campground in Tecopa. Nancy, Paul and Patrick were singing.
