Nice 65 degree day, breezy and over cast. We hiked and then soaked at the hot springs. Life is pretty good.
I have gone over to the dark side- I have craft gloves to see if they help with hand fatigue and a leather thimble to I can push the needle into the basket, not my hand. At the hot spring we saw Judy’s old truck with the pup fish licence plate. She had donated it, it was then in a roll over and last we saw it was just parked. It is now in another life at a 4 wheeler. The plan is for it to have a roll cage on the front with a fold out tent on top of that and racks to haul 4 motor cycles in the back.
My jewels on display at the Shoshone General Store. Nice display. The bus plugged into my sister’s house in Shoshone. Hers is the one with the blue porch. There is another house next door that you can see part of behind the bus.
I put epoxy resin on the pine cone slices my sister cut for me and some of the glass pieces I made to make into basket centers. I managed to make a defect in each one of them so they need to be sanded and redone. But they look cool. The high winds blew this branch down next door. It just missed the trailer, they were lucky.
We took an nice 3 mile hike today on the loop west of Shoshone. It is wonderful to see sun and blue sky and to have it not rain. My friend Katy wove this throw rug for xmas for us with what looks like ribbons. It is to beautiful to walk on, but she says it is washable. To pretty not to use.
Ice on Grimshaw wetlands this am. We are in the desert, it is not supposed to get that cold! Backlit last years cattails
Sunset tonight. I hiked up to Geode Canyon with a friend from Tecopa this am.
Nancy in Geode Canyon and some geodes. The last one is some pea sized iron concreations, the rest are the geodes
Nancy in Geode canyon. Yet more geodes. The walls of this part of the canyon are bumpy with the geodes, some are broken open. They are so cool, the patterns in the rocks are all different.
Autumn Breeze master piece is done. It has 7 aspen leaves set in resin in it. The bottom of the basket has one surrounded by mottled blue glass beads. The next three photos are rotating around it. I love the way it came out.
Still rotating around the basket. Both sides of the basket are similar, you can tell them apart by which way the lip on the top points.
