We are now at the Cove Palisades State Park in Oregon. Nice campground and if you look close you can see the pumpkin patch behind the campground. The bus in the campground and our view. Mostly it rained and was cloudy. I took the photos when the sun came out briefly.
John on the ridge on the Crooked River trail which overlooks the gorge the river is in. You may not see him, he is wearing his camo jacket. Over the narrow ridge is another gorge with the Deschutes river in it, they merge here along with the Metolious River. So far we have only see this one.
A tiny rainbow- another of the brief times the sun was out. Photo op spot of the Crooked River gorge, but Caution- Cliff ahead!
A water fall dropping of the edge of the cliff. In the distance you can see the narrow river gorge. I started the latest masterpiece. The center is a piece of glass I made. It has purple dyed needles stitched with light blue. These are what I have as options for this basket. I am not sure how it will go together, but will be fun to see.
This is the waterfall we saw from above last night from below. Did that make any sense? The marina on the Crooked River side of the park.
This rock with the petroglyphs was down closer to the river, but when the built the dam it flooded where it was so they moved it to it's present site. This is the bridge over the Crooked River-looking up river. The one over the Deschutes river looks the same. Two narrow river canyons that come together here at Billy Chinook reservoir.
The bridge looks pretty old, but still very sturdy. Looking up at the rock walls on the gorge from below. Lots of cool volcanic rock formations. These are the 'palisades' of the park.
We are now at the overlooks on the Crooked river side. Looking up Crooked river canyon. The sun made a brief appearance up river. You can see the bridge down over the river. This shot is looking at where the Crooked river on the left and the Deschutes river canyons come together and form the lake.
I was watching the deer in the pumpkin patch by the campground and the sun came out for a minute, I snapped the shots then.
