The hike follows the Amargosa river from headwaters to where it disappears into the desert in Death Valley at Badwater. Much of the river runs underground. In this area it has some water on the ground. The river and 3 sizes of cracked mud. We went on a very bumpy 4.3 miles of dirt road. The car crossing the mighty Amargosa. John and Judy crossing the river. We had to carry in the cache.
Much of the hike follows the Tonopah to Tidewater railroad bed. John and Judy on the railroad bed. We stopped here where the railroad bed used to cross the river on a big bridge and had lunch. We hiked to the other side previously from up river to cut a way through all these mesquite.
John and Judy on the way back between backlit bushes. A very small waterfall and big swimming hole on the Amargosa river.
On the way back we stopped at Death Valley Brewery for a brew then had dinner at the Bistro. The masterpiece is nearing being done. It is now 10 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 2 inches.
Warm low 70 degree day. Clouds rolled in for most of the afternoon, but near sunset the sun emerged to give us this small sunset.
When you have to put duct tape on your computer to keep it together it is time to get a new one. I finished this basket. 9 1/2 x 10 1/2 x2 inches. The center is a piece of dichroic glass my friend Laurie made, the beads are glass that I bought. There are aqua marine, teal and navy blue dyed needles and regular ones.
John and I walked around the loop trail today at dusk. The light was beautiful.
John on the trail and cool clouds.
A cairn with bad hair and I saw this hawk capture this rabbit.
Sunset and beautiful historic downtown Shoshone this evening.
