February 7-9, 2019 Shoshone, California

It has cooled off. Just below freezing at night and into the 50's and sunny during the day.

There is snow on the mountains all around us. This afternoon there was a cool sun dog is some cool clouds

And of course all the cool clouds dissipated before sunset. But still a nice one. I started a new basket today. The center is a shell I found on the beach and the material is palm inflorescence from date palms. They are the part of the palm tree that has the flowers and then the dates. I am using what is left after the dates fall off. These are still fresh so they are orange, they will turn brown when they dry.

Love the hairy fibers on the fan palms.

Today we hiked the white trail again. John and Judy D both carried full packs. They are getting ready for the big B2B hike that starts next week.  Willie and Lily with their matching sweatshirts.  Robbie brings them by the house in the afternoons so we can feed them treats.

We had dinner at Robbie and Susie's beautiful house tonight. Susie and Willie in the kitchen. Robbie cooking the meat and John supervising. Susan photo bombing.
The basket is coming along. Can't decide whether to stop here or add some more.
