January 4-6, 2019 Shoshone, California

60's, rained all day.

The sky cleared right at sunset and here it is. My new laptop came today. It has windows 10 in it. My old one is pictured here on the left. It has windows 7 in it. So far so good. I have loaded my old quicken and Photoshop elements into it and working right along. Just need to transfers tons of data from the old one.

Very windy today. We went on a hike on the white trail, tried to stay in the lee of the wind. Did ok. Esp exploring this home built in the clay hills by the miners. There were not many clouds, but caught this reflection in a puddle from yesterdays rain tonight.

Today we went on a hike with the Tecopa Hiking club. It was sunny and in the 50's. We passed this huge outcrop of quartz. Really pretty. Spring has started. It is turning green and flowers are starting. Cranes Bill, evening primrose, brittle bush, cute cactus's with red needles, green grass coming up and more brittle brush.

Roger, Susan and Toni entering carpet canyon. Roger named it that since it was carpeted with grass and flowers. Toni, Claudia and John climbing up a small dry fall.

We hiked up to the what we think is the Excelsior mine. It is between the Noonday and the War Eagle mines. Lunch at the mine.

The view looking out. You can see the desert is starting to turn green. Looking back up at the mine on our way down.

Heading down a wash that narrows up.

Looking back up. Blooming brittle bushes.

Grass coming up. We passed the site of the old Tecopa 2 town site. Not much left but garbage.

Looking back at where we were with beautiful sky. Cool rock, cholla cactus, old colored glass at the town site and we passed Thelma and Louise Rd.
We ended the hike having tea on the veranda at Toni and Roger's beautiful house.
