March 7-10, 2021 Shoshone, California

71 degrees and cloudy. I spent the day working on basket centers and demo basket for the class I am teaching tomorrow.  Hopefully, it is supposed to be very windy.

The boys 'drove' Robbie's side by side and the dogs by tonight. They tried to use my hula hoop, not really have it figured out, so they were jumping through it.

Today I had a basket making class. A small try it out one. I am going to have another larger one. It went well, we had fun. No one finished theirs, they took supplies home to finish them.

We took the bus to Tecopa to dump and fill. The building behind the bus is the county hot springs. We have not been in any hot springs since covid. These hot springs just opened back up. Hopefully when we have both our vaccines. On our way back to Shoshone. The wild hot springs are to the right of the highway. The road is closed, but people are still going in. They were drilling for oil or something and hit hot water, they almost lost the drilling rig. Now there is a hot spring and the water fills the wetlands on the left side of the highway. Lots of cool birds stop there.

Buzzards in the sunset. I guess they winter farther south of here and they are now back for the coming spring! This cool glass mosaic is on Ethel's grave.

Big crowd at the Crowbar this evening. Old Joe's miner cabin.

Wild shaped clay hills on my walk tonight. Nice salt deposits on the ground here.

Beautiful evening light on the pass. Sunset over the school.

I primed the lattice in front of Judy's house today. I was going to paint over it the turquoise on the posts, but the white looks pretty good. May just put another coat of white on it. I visited my friends Michael and Susan's new house in Tecopa. They got a screaming deal on a lot with a lot of junk, a 5th wheel, a motorhome and this structure. They hauled away a lot of junk and the 5th wheel. They are fixing it up as a winter get away. They had to have it rewired, had propane installed with heaters, a stove and a hot water heater. Are having a kitchen remodel, and a bathroom put in. It is coming along. This area is a bit bohemian, many old doublewides, old motorhomes. Many  are fixer uppers.

Rain over Tecopa Heights. This unique home in Tecopa Heights is an old trailer with a roof over it and an old appliance wind break  Refrigerators, a stove and who knows what else.

Rain over the Tecopa Lake Playa. Those are salt depots, not snow. Nice light on the pass from Shoshone.

Beautiful light on the Resting Springs range. Last light on the Nopah range behind the Resting Springs range.

Fire on the bluff, sunset on the rain coming from under the cloud.  Sunset looking west.

A monster cloud.
