December 19-21, 2021 Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument to Gila Bend, to Painted Rock, Arizona

 71 and sunny today.

We drove to Quitobaquito Springs today. The road goes by the wall. Looks like a mohawk. John on the trail at the springs. It is a desert oasis that has been occupied by many people and cultures since the 1600's.

The pond at the Quitobaquito springs. This little canal is water running from the spring to the pond.

The actual spring. Flowers seen at Quitobaquito area and screw bean mesquite seeds.

The wall is good for some artsy kind of photos.

Cool shadows. Dinner on our veranda tonight at sunset.

Sunset tonight. 70 and sunny today. We drove to Gila Bend, Az for the night. We went through a border patrol check point and passed, A piece of molding came loose while driving. John is taping it back on. The view driving into Gila Bend.

Our campsite at the Sonoran RV park.  Very fancy expensive resort. Very modern. We have a tree, picnic table and a few yucca. I hung out at the pool while I was doing laundry and worked on my current masterpiece.

This sign was in the laundry room. Venomous snake warning. Snakes are out, wear boots and carry a walking stick. Keep pets on a short leash. Snakes are commonalty out at dusk and at night. Carry a flashlight. For humans bit by a venomous snake call 911. The closest ER is 40 miles away in Buckeye.
Scorpions are also out in the summer. Yes we are in the desert.  Current masterpiece I worked on today. The center is a light green stone frog.

Sunset tonight. Driving down main street in Gila Bend. Notice the Space Age Lodge on the left.

It was cloudy most of the day, but 70 degrees. Dinner on our picnic table in our campsite at Painted Rocks Campground during a brief glimpse of sunset. We had a small spot of sunset tonight.
