April 6, 2014 Prospect Trail (?) Valley of Fire, Nevada

We started on the White Dome loop to go to the Prospect Trail. It is 5 miles from there to camp. We did not find a shuttle, so we decided to hike just half of it, and then come back to the car. The ranger said it was well marked, but we missed a turn somewhere, but the canyon we went up was really pretty.

An old movie set on the White Dome trail. John in the narrows, closely followed by a gentleman carrying his terrier.

We followed the trail out to this beautiful overlook.

John in another narrows on the way back. Then into a boulder field of red, yellow, purple and white rocks with yellow flowers.

A meadow on the trail. The rocks are wild colors and shapes in this whole area.

John down climbing. White, yellow, orange and red rocks on the trail.

Back in the wash back to the  White Dome trail.  Cool colors.

The last half of the White Dome trail is these yellow and purple rocks.

Shiny seed head, moki marbles, indigo bush, round colors on a rock, mallow, tiny purple flower, daddy long legs with his shadow.
