April 8, 2014 Snow Canyon, Utah

Today we hiked 3 pond trail. The 3 ponds are supposed to really be three pot holes, or holes that hold water after the rains and supply water in the desert. It was close to 80 degrees and the heat radiated of the canyon walls. Beautiful hike thought.

Snow canyon. John reflected in a pot hole. We think we took a wrong turn and this was the wrong canyon.

Same canyon. It has 3 or 4 potholes, but don’t think it is the ‘3 pot holes’ of the trail. John down climbing the dry fall. We turned around here.

We continued up the main canyon and came to these. There are three pot holes, one above another. Maybe these were it?  Other people hiking seemed to think these were them. The trail was not well marked, in fact was not marked at all the second half of it. John hiking back down the wash. Very hot. Very sandy trail.

Tree just leafing and flowering, snake weed, hairy fleabane, tiger swallowtail, hairy plantain, firecracker pentstamen, candy tuft, Manzanita berries, bitter bush, redbud.

On my way to the showers tonight I passed a group site where a young girl was holding a book she was reading and she was asking ‘What is a bootie and how do you shake it??’
