Jeff Sambur at home in his rig Barley. He is in his bedroom suite, with the walk in closet to the right. He lives in Barley and travels, now he is visiting us, camped next door. We went to Tuzigoot today. It is the ruins of an ancient Sinagua pueblo. It had 110 rooms. The Indians farmed the land around it. There is also a nice museum there.
Tuzigoot, if you look closely you can see Jeff and John on top.
Inside the tower on top and looking down from the tower.
The other side of Tuzigoot. We went back to Oak Creek Brewery in Sedona to meet with another retired fireman from Fort Collins, Mike Pretz and is wife Marilyn Maskell. Jeff –wearing his This beer tastes like I am not going to work tomorrow and John having a beer .
Mike, Jeff, John, Suep and Marilyn at Oak Creek Brewing. Mike and Marilyn are out on a long vacation in their motorhome too. The campground we are at is on the Verde River, here it is by camp.
I got some new colors of cord for baskets. Woo hoo. It got very dark and stormy. We had high winds and rain.
On Sat the weather was still cool and wet. We hiked about 4 miles in the campground. This is Tavasci marsh, next to the Verde river. We sat on some benches and watched birds. Tuzigoot is on the ridge across the river. Very pleasant. This giant bug- a tarantula hawk crossed our path. It is about 2 inches long and is a wasp.
Tuzigoot is right across the river from the marsh. This is the basket I am currently working on. The wrapped coils took me about 4 hours. Well see how it comes out. The center is a slice of stone has some amethyst in it.
Pot o’ gold and sunset.
