May 6-8, 2021 South Lake Tahoe to Yuba City, California

70 degrees sunny and light winds.

We drove to South Lake Tahoe today. The GPS tried to take us on this very windy narrow road. We saw a sign that said no trucks, that is usually a really good sign to not go there in a motorhome. We took the longer way around through Carson City. The bus at the City of Lake Tahoe campground. Our view of Lake Tahoe from camp. These trees are I think Jeffry pines which grow to 130 feet tall and have really big pine cones.

The beach on Lake Tahoe across the street from the campground. The current masterpiece is almost done. It is 6 x 2 1/2 inches, natural and dyed pine needles, glass beads and the center is some dichroic glass earrings that I fused together.

John sitting on a bench waiting for sunset on Lake Tahoe. The bench was really uncomfortable so we walked on the beach instead. Sunset over Lake Tahoe.

Welcome to Nevada. We were in California, then highway 395 went into Nevada, then back into California, but not welcome to California sign. Black Bear crossing. These pine cones are huge. They are 8-10 inches long. One fell on the car when I was parking it and scared me to death. Glad it was not my head. Mural on the wall of a pot shop.  Sunset.

John is delighted there are about 10 breweries here. We walked along the lake to Sidellis Lake Tahoe brewery. John with his IPA. Some signs at the brewery. Used beer department by the bathrooms and Load here sign over guess what. A vintage Tahoe beer sign, says it is as famous as the lake. Sidellis Lake Tahoe, Beer first, then everything else.

It was a beautiful day, so we walked along the lake shore to another Brewery at Lake Tahoe. John with his brew. In the bathroom at the brewery they said not not flush Hopes and Dreams.

John walking along the lake shore back to camp. Sunset on Lake Tahoe.

I added beads to this around the center. It is almost done now.  Driving over  the Sierra's Echo pass 7,700 feet.

Bubba and BJ met us along our route today and bought us lunch. Great to see them. Great food. Who are those masked people? Bubba, BJ, Sue and John.

I grew up in the Bay Area with golden grass and oak tree. Love this view. The bus at Yuba-Sutter fairgrounds in Yuba City, California  for the night.

John and I sitting in beautiful sunlit green arbor at Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds in Yuba, City Ca. I worked on this masterpiece while we drove today. 5 x 2 inches so far.
