High of only 88 degrees today. I spent most of the day in my glass studio.
I entered this aspen bear bowl in the Cheyenne glass show this winter. It sold before the show opened and I have orders for three more. Three bears in progress
A closer up of the bear in progress, you can see that one layer is iridized. I have this photo of the last one I made on a flash drive on my tv screen in my studio so I can make it look similar.
John cooked a scrumptious dinner for Martha, Jimjim and myself tonight. Smoked chicken, veges and quinoa pilaf. Great to see them. Our relatives in Denver regular Christmas dinner was canceled because of covid this year, so Tammy had a Christmas in July instead. We usually miss it since we are on the road. My brother Ray from Virginia and my sister Judy from California came this year. Ray, John, Steve and Judy. It was wonderful to see everyone.
My sister Judy and brother Jerry. John carrying chair to the back with one was on his head.
Sue, Judy, Lys, Carla, Jamie, Chris and Tammy. We had dinner with 3 tables of relatives on the back patio.
Steve, Tammy and Morgan -with his smiley face cookie-with the dessert spread. The four siblings, Ray, Sue, Jerry and Judy.
Tammy with her sons Justin and Morgan. They threw a great get together. It was 89 degrees today, hot enough to fry and egg on the sidewalk.
My siblings came over for dinner. Also Jimjim, Jon from Jackson, Wyo and John and Mandy. It was a fun time. 4 siblings-Judy, Ray, Sue and Jerry.
I took my sight seeing in Fort Collins today. We started at the Swetsville Zoo. It is a bunch of really cool sculptures made by the owner over the years from used parts. The front gate. A couple sculptures by the road bridge to show you the size of them.
Ants made from rail road spicks heading into the cooler. A dinosaur hatching out of an egg, the eggs are made from old propane tanks.
A dragon with golf clubs on his back and a flag in his hand. A 'bug' over the picnic table.
The whole property had turrets and sculptures all over it. This is a double wide with turrets and an armored guard. We need this for the front of the bus no one would go too slow in front of us.
Our second sight seeing stop was that the Trial Gardens at CSU. It is one 1 of 4 in the USA. They test seeds and plants from various seed companies at this altitude. It is a whole block of flowers. Pretty incredible. A few more sculptures from the Swetsville zoo. The tall one's head is a parking meter and he has a badge on his chest, A little creature, vultures made from shovels some flowers from the gardens, petunias and a begonia that looks like a rose.
My siblings came over for dinner tonight. Here we are looking at old photos. The 4 siblings. Ray, Jerry, Sue and Judy.
Sunset tonight.
