July 6-8, 2021 Riverton to Rawlins, Wyoming to Fort Collins, Colorado

High of 82 and sunny. We drove to Rawlins today.

In Riverton John squeezed the bus into a car wash with inches to spare to wash it. Washed the front, pulled forward and washed the back and the car. In Jeffry along the way there was the Monk-king-bird pottery and a sweet log cabin with a sign that says Home on The range. We passed a bunch of these if the lights are flashing the road is closed, that is for snow in the winter. High desert with no trees, it is a total white out when it snows. We crossed the continental divide twice, there is a big basin up here that has the continental divide all around it, any precipitation there stays in there. We missed Happy Days in Riverton this coming weekend. Bummer.

We drove through high desert along a canyon rim- nice views. A Wyoming vista.

We are at the Red Desert Rose RV park, There are a few scattered weeds for grass, the trees are dying and it was hot with no shade. Right on the highway and a railroad track.  But they do have miniature golf. More progress on the basket. It is now 8 1/2 x 10 inches. Took me the 4 hour drive  to add these metal and frog beads.

Our view from a dinner of left overs of dead trees, miniature golf and the highway. An Indian and a cowboy in front of the RV park.

Art in the RV park silhouetted against the sunset colors.

Welcome to Colorful Colorado. The people from the trailer are also getting a photo of the sign. We made it to Fort Collins. The bus is parked at the fire station. We spent 4 hours in 95 degree sun unpacking. But we are now here. The bus will move to storage tomorrow.

Today a high of 101 degrees mostly sunny with some rain showers. If you look close you will see the rain drops in the backyard. We had happy hour with Martha and Jimjim today at Equinox brewery. John, Sue, Jimjim, Martha and Chili Dog. They are in town getting their rental ready to sell. Good to see them.

Sunset tonight. A high of 95 and sunny. I drove down to D and L wholesale art glass today. 1 1/2 hours each way to Denver in stop and go traffic. You have to make an appointment and are the only customer in the store. I got out with mostly what I came in to buy. The place is dangerous. They have everything you could ever want for glass.

We had dinner at our friends John and Mandy's house. John G smoked ribs.  Jimjim and Martha are here from Carbondale getting their rental house ready to sell, so they came along too. Wonderful dinner and great company.

Our friends John and Mandy are building a home in the mountains outside of Carbondale. Mandy made this model of what it will look like. Beautiful place.
