June 7, 2022 Farewell Bend, Oregon

 76 and sunny today.

We left Hot lake and drove to Farewell Bend State Park, Oregon. It is one of the stops on the historic Oregon trail. It is on the Snake River, which is the first water source after the long trek across the plains. Now the river has a dam downstream and is a lake here with huge fish.  The bus at Catfish loop. The upper loop has grass and trees. The sites are longer down where we are.

The Snake River from the dock at the park. Huge catfish. The lady holding the cat fish said 'Oh, these are not that big, the biggest here is only 18 lbs' They look pretty big to me.

The master piece progress. Our snake Frances almost got killed again today. A ranger and a lady who was freaking about a rattlesnake. John went out, she is screaming, don't come out. Snake! John goes out, picks it up and says this snake (which is rubber), she is our guard snake. All got a good laugh.
