November 13-14, 2022 Bosque Del Apache, San Antonio, New Mexico

 64 and partly sunny.

We finally saw a javelina. It ran across the street in front of us. Sandhill cranes with the sunset under their wings.

There were not many cranes when we arrived, but the red wing blackbirds and snow geese kept us entertained.  The cranes came in late again in the sunset.

Sunset over the wetlands. Jeff and Val came over for dinner after crane viewing. Fun visiting with them.  John made yummy tomato soup with home made bread.

High of 57 and below freezing at night. We are now at Elephant Butte Lake State park, very close to the city of Elephant Butte, which is just north of Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico. The marina at Elephant Butte State Park through the tinted window of the bus.

We have a nice campsite at the end of the row with a view of the lake, a picnic shelter and a couple of trees. The trees have lost their leaves, which is fine because it is not that warm, the sun is welcome. It is a back in site, but we went front in so we face the lake and the morning sun will shine in the front window. The view from our site.

The masterpiece is getting close to being done. It is 11 x 3 1/2  inches. The lake turned pink at sunset tonight.
