73 and sunny.
Today was the first day of the Fire House Rummage sale. I shared a booth with Susan, a potter. I had my glass and baskets. Susan had a lot of wood fired ceramics. Susan has a line of jelly fish pieces. Plus mugs and jugs. We did real well today. Tomorrow is the last day. We did not buy too much at the rummage sale. . .
Rummage sale from our booth. The booth in the back is Wonder hussy's. She had a long line all day to meet and greet with her. The line starts on the left of the photo and goes all the way to her booth. She raises a lot of money for the fire dept. Susan in the booth beside us was selling handmade bull whips. She is an expert with them. Here she is cracking the whip. I tried it and ended up just whipping myself.
Sunset. At the rummage sale I was channeling my little brother Jerry. He loved thrift shops, garage sales etc. He also loved stupid movies- so I got this to watch in his memory.
Sunset tonight was pretty cool, The colors were very pink, but they did not come out on the photos. We are expecting rain, and these look like rain clouds. One of the baskets I made for the sale this last weekend. It is made from dyed pine needles, wire grass, polyester thread, glass beads and the center is a piece of glass I fused in one of my early fusing classes. It is about 12 x 12 x 4 inches.
This is the second one, both sold. It is made from dyed and natural pine needles, polyester thread, handmade clay beads from Chile and the center is a piece of slate tile I sandblasted and painted petroglyphs on. It is about 12 x 9 x 3 inches. Desert gold.
Desert gold. 5 spot, cryptantha, mushroom, filaree, desert gold, broad leaf gilia, and yellow flower.
Desert gold with a view. Cool rock, unknown plant, desert spine flower, buckwheat, portulaca, rock daisy, daffodils in the neighbors yard. I saw this out of the corner of my eye and thought it was a snake- but it is a misshapen air filter.
Gibbous moon. The clouds were great for sunset.
Curlicues in the sky. And starfish.
The almost full moon yesterday. I spent most of the day making a fitted sheet out of a flat sheet. I bought it accidently, meant to get a fitted. Didn't notice it until we were way out of the area of the store, so could not return it. was going to do it the next year when we went back, but forgot, so two years later I still have this flat sheet. Got instructions on the internet and voila a fitted sheet.
