Dinner at our house on Sun. Sunset.
69 and sunny. We drove Judy and Judy up to Beatty to start their 2 week backpack trip. We stopped on the way and cached food and water for them so they don't need to carry it all. We are spending the night at the Atomic Inn in Beatty..
We visited stopped at Death Valley Nut and Candy before checking in. A desert gold blooming. We are at a higher elevation and there are fewer flowers. Hairy bug , a few things in the lobby of the Atomic Inn., their business card -where all the aliens stay, and a mural downtown.
Flock of birds near the motel. There is a herd of sort of wild burros that hang around town.
Feed me! Then started to follow me around. A bunch of burros crossing the street.
Last light. Sunset over the Amargosa River. The Judy's are going to walk the length of the river into Death Valley at Badwater.
We had dinner at the VFW that is in an old church. We ate in the old chapel, with stained glass windows behind James.
Judy and Judy leaving for their 150 mile backpack. It rained all day. This was as close as we got for sunset.
Rain in beautiful, historic, downtown Shoshone. Cool clouds.
The Kingston's look like they may have gotten a bit of sun. The next day we headed toward Pahrump for supplies. the Nopah range on the way.
