85 and sunny today.
We went to the community potluck in Tecopa tonight. Had some yummy food and saw some old friends. All my lemon bar got eaten. Desert gold on the way back.
Desert gold on the way home.
Desert gold with Tecopa peak. Tecopa across fields of flowers and they dry lake Tecopa
Desert gold. I can't quit taking photos of them. They are phenomenal. And they smell so good.
Sliver new moon tonight. The hook on the top of the hummingbird feeder broke off. I stuck it in the tree and the hummingbirds like it, they sat around it in the tree. Tomorrow when they empty it I am going to wire wrap the feeder so I can hang it back up. Don't want the ants in it.
High of 90 and sunny. We stayed inside with the AC on. I finished the beading on the pink cabochon I started in a class at the glass expo. The beading looks good, too bad the colors are horrible and the cab is boring. The instructor picked them, we all had them. I also made this one with a piece of dichroic glass. The color is not good in the photo, the glass is blue, purple and teal all at once and changes as you move it. I like it much better than the pink one.
High of 93, another day inside out of the heat. I made another pendant. I learned in the class how to do this wrap with a bead with a hole in it. My pieces do not have holes, so I worked around it by adding on the back to hold the glass in. The hook on the hummingbird feeder broke, so I wire wrapped the feeder. I went a little over board, but the hummingbirds don't seem to mind.
I also wrapped pendants too. The first has a bike, the second has a frog in it and the third has a figure holding a kayak paddle above it's head. Only a couple tiny clouds, mostly sunset was a pink glow.
We went to a talk at the museum with the author of a book about William Manly. He was one of the wagon trains of 49ers stranded in Death Valley in 1849. He and a friend hiked out and got supplies and came back and lead the people out of the hot stinking desert. Good talk. Desert gold on the Aqua trail today.
Toni on the boardwalk through the vole habitat to the pupfish pond and the pupfish pod. The trees are just starting to leaf out.
No clouds tonight but lots of blowing dust. High of 80 with winds 20-30 mph with gusts up to 44 mph.
