56 and mostly sunny.
On our way to Oregon we stopped at our favorite sea food restaurant in Crescent City- Crescent seafood. John had fire dusted calamari and I had bang bang prawns to start with. Then John had a scallop sandwich and we ordered crab cakes and cioppino for dinner tonight. Someone put a scarf on the mermaid on the pier.
Crescent city marina. Crescent City light house. It is on an island and you can only go out there at low tide.
We are camped at Harris Beach State Park in Brookings, Oregon now. Beautiful spot, except that the highway is right behind us, and the lumber mill across the is running a loud load of something. We took a lovely walk in the beach.
Escallonia hedges and rhododendrons in the campground, quaking grass, wild radish, blue by the wind sailors are washed up on the beach, and wild calla lilies. Harris Beach.
Wild radish flowers and teasel seed pods. Oyster catcher, sea gull, live teasel, wild carrots, calla lily and black vetch.
Sunset on the beach tonight.
High of 56, mostly sunny and windy. John on the trail to the south beach. Waves and seagulls on south beach.
John walking on south beach. Sea star.
Cool waves. View heading back to the north beach.
John overcoming beach obstacles on the beach. Canada geese on the beach.
Canada geese and braided channels in Harris Creek. The waves were pretty big today.
John on north beach. Wild radishes on the trail back.
Red hot pokers. I climbed up to the beach overlook for sunset.
Another view from the beach overlook.
