New Jersey-waiting for the car. Lots of rain
We woke up to fog, then rain
fall leaf on the windshield, maples starting to turn
goose berries, ferns and asters, pink flowers, yellow and pink, ferns growing out of a rock, yellow flowers, more yellow and goldenrod and asters
Finally we got the car back. Three trips to service, a new used engine, then a new used transmission, then some kind of exchanging parts, the last part they didn’t charge us for. Since they gave us the car back twice and it was not fixed. John has a new checklist to check every time we go on the move. Including, car in neutral.
Off to New York. We went to the Catskill mountains and parked at North South Lake. The bus is on a huge rock-not cement by the lake.
Monarchs in milk weed, We hiked to Kaaterskill falls. The highest falls in New York, 260 feet tall.
The lower portion of Kaaterskill and the rainbow.
The trail, and lots of moss
Kaaterskill down by the road, still falling. The Catskill mountains, very steep, narrow gorges
The top of Hunter mountain ski area in New York, very, very steep, mostly black runs. Rip Van Winkle did his 26 year sleep in the Catskills. Tannersville and Hunter both have these painted Rips.
North lake in the morning. Got the routes marked on the map, only need to put the low spots and then I can hang it.
