September 18, 2012 Sugarloaf campground, White Mountains, New Hampshire

We drove to Sugarloaf campground near Crawford Notch in the White Mountains through some cute, small new England towns , up into the mountains. Branches and trees here and there are starting to turn. It started raining right after we got here and has not stopped yet( 9 pm). John made hot butternut bisque and we watched a movie-Public Enemy about the capture of the famous gangster John Dillinger. We had been to the Little Bohemia Inn in Wisconsin where part of it was filmed and I wanted to see it. Also because Johnny Depp is in it.

The bus at Sugarloaf campground. After the bisque we had some of the Lake Champlain chocolate hoard. This one is dark chocolate with pistachios and red pepper. Really good.  We took off walking in the rain.

One of the trails near the campground. Answers my question if this place is open in the winter.  Red maple leaves.

Rain on the river through the notch and John walking down the road. There is a huge mountain in front of him hidden in the clouds and rain.

Huge puddles in the campground. The campground host sign, says the witch is in . Guess we better behave or we will get turned into toads.
