September 1-3 Country Club

The country club has  beautifully landscaped, forested grounds. A huge 120 year old mansion is the office, expansive lawns and pretty flowers and scrubs.  It is one of the country’s oldest nudist colonies. There are 6 RV sites-full hook ups, not sure how many lovely large campsites with large tent platforms tucked away in the woods, many permanent RV/trailer sites also tucked away in the woods.  People have built large decks, potted plants. Many people have a trailer that they use as a weekend getaway. Some live here full time.  A number of cabins, built 30 years ago- no bathrooms, heat or AC.  The biggest beautiful pool I have seen since Death Valley. Showers are open air. People are very friendly. It is just like being at a regular wonderful campground, except many of the people don’t wear clothes. No one acts or treats anyone any differently. You get used to it and forget about it. A normal mix of people , men and women, all shapes and ages. Kind of like most pools. Children are allowed, but there were none this weekend. We are not allowed to take photos. The first day at the pool was a perfect sunny day. Hung out in the sun, reading and swimming, played some kind of water ball game. Lots of people all having fun. A lot of day visitors too. I got an open air massage, John gets one today. Very laid back place. The next day it was kind of cloudy, still warm enough for the pool. Very quiet at the pool. It rained in the afternoon. Nudist use umbrellas, not rain coats. I took naked yoga. My first ever yoga class, I loved it, I will take more yoga classes if they are offered on our travels.  The weekend cost more than our usual forest service campground. But not much more than an option packed, loud kids, RV’s lined up side by side KOA.  You can come three times as visitor, then you have to join. Some of the members have been here for 40 years, they all knew each other and were very welcoming. All and all a very nice weekend.  I do have a couple very discreet photos. Don’t tell the management.

John cooking dinner, he refused to cook without clothes, doesn’t want to burn anything. The pool, had to take it late when no one was around it.

Seen on the way, I never knew that they were a real place.

When we first arrived and got into the pool one of the men said to John- Wow you have are really big unit. John kind of taken aback says, Ahhh.. Thanks, then the guy says when I heard you pulling in I knew it was a nice big motorhome. John thinks with relief, he is taking about the RV and they had an RV conversation.

At least you don’t have to worry about what to wear here.
