We are parked at another of the Harvest Host sites (you park for free, no hookups, at small farms and wineries, you have to partake in whatever they sell). This one is the Vermont Wildflower farm in Shelburne, Vermont. They hand harvest their seeds. This morning the mowed down their demonstration wildflower fields. We missed them. They have a cute gift shop where they have all their varieties of seeds , gifts, garden items etc.
The Vermont Wildflower Farm. Tourist crossing!
A couple of the wildflowers remaining. Then we went to the Shelburne Museum, had tons of different things. This is a Bombardier snow cat at the snow mobile and sleigh exhibit.
Me on the carousel. I love the old hand carved carousels. Inside they had an exhibit of some really cool carousel animals.
John trying to stare down the lion. An old Barnum circus poster with the 4 legged girl.
John in the Adirondack lodge exhibit. The Ticonderoga. It ran for 50 years on Lake Champlain. It took passengers and freight. Stopped at each little town on the way to pick up or deliver things and people. It retired in 1954.
The sitting room and the dining room. The lady I talked to rode on it in 1953. She said in the evening they would push the tables in the dining room back and big bands would play. It was when people really traveled in luxury. The wood is cherry wood.
At the Time Machine, Rockets and Robots exhibit, these are two time machines. The first one is inspired by H.G. Wells.
The rocket exhibit- an old rocket ride. Some old rocket toys.
Robots and ray guns
A covered bridge at the museum. This one was built 1875 and is 178 feet long. It was moved here to the museum. And the speed limit sign on the bridge.
One of the rockets from the rocket exhibit. We went to two wineries and they were both closed for the day- but here are the grapes.
A Vermont dairy farm, and a Vermont corn field. We have been seeing a lot of both.
The Fiddlehead brewery was still open. I got John a Growlette of IPA for his birthday season. A growlette is 2 pints. The sunset light on the bus at the Wild flower farm.
A self portrait of suep.
