Friday it was cool, cloudy and supposed to rain. We rode up the coast to check out the sights. This is a mostly resort area, hotels, resorts, beaches, shops, restaurants, etc. Very low key.
Sharkey’s tourist shop. You get to walk into the sharks mouth to shop. This surfer big foot was in front of North Beach Motel in Ocean City.
Today it was sunny. We took a long hike on the beach. The sand here is very fine and dark. Looks like dirt, but acts like sand. What is that ahead? Crop circle?? They allow cars on the beach, some guy turned a perfect donut here. Looked like a great place to sun meditate. I think that is the same as sun bathing.
The water was making a plaid design in the surf here. John found some live mussels and here he is returning them to the sea. The sand gets in the waves, makes the water look muddy when it is going out. Much cleaner after low tide.
Dunes and dune grass. We stopped at the Quinault Casino to use the bathrooms and get some thing to drink. Free sodas. I borrowed $20 from John and won an additional $50. Yesterday I lost $20 and won $20. Broke even.
In the exhibit of Indain art from the Quinault Nation they had this display of masks made by grade school kids. Cute. We saw horses on the beach on the way back.
A couple of fresh water streams making their way to the ocean.
At dusk I ran into this black tailed deer in the dunes. They are everywhere here. Sunset on the water.
There were no clouds, the horizon kind of turned pink, the best part was the pink waves.
We may have lost our minds sun worshiping today.
