Arrived in Portland yesterday.
The bus at Roamers Rest RV park. Not too bad for a commercial park in the middle of the city. We got the last place for the weekend. Cities don’t have many RV parks. We had dinner with my cousin Bobbye and her husband Cary.
Bobbye and I, can you tell we are related?? Cousins once removed we decided. Today is was so beautiful we did not want to go indoors, so we wandered around downtown outside. We went to the Bullseye glass gallery. I make my masterpieces out of bulleye glass and their factory is here. I wanted to tour the factory but the website said they only had tours two days a month and one was not this week, so we went to the gallery. Of course the gallery lady called the factory and if I had called them I could have gone this am with another group, but no more today or Monday.
In our wandering we went by the Keen outlet and I accidently bought a new pair of boots. I have walked the tread off my last pair. I wanted the lighter version, but they didn’t have my size, so I tried these higher quality, much better soles on and loved them and they were on sale for less than the lighter ones. John liked the shoe store because in the corner they had a tap with free beer from the breweries in the area, He called it the spousal waiting area.
Bike sculpture called Little bikes, big fun. We walked by the Voodoo donut shop-as seen on TV food shows. I guess it has some really wacky flavor combinations and their signature one is shaped like a voodoo doll and oozes raspberry filling when ripped open. There is always a long line to get in.
We found another brewery and stopped for a taste and dinner of the pear, goat cheese, garlic cream sauce, mozzarella, hazel nut, prosciutto ham and arugula flatbread.
Moon rising over traffic in Portland on the way out of town.
