Martha, John and I met up with Deb and Rosie to hike McCulloch Gulch this morning. It is between Breckenridge and Alma. The hike is short, but very scenic. I have known Rosie for 25 years. Martha has known Deb for even longer. John says he was the token male on the hike.
Sue, Rosie, Deb, Martha and John on the way up. John, Deb, Martha and Rosie at McCulloch falls.
The clouds were spectacular. At the top of the falls it is still coming through snow banks, even in late July.
The lake above the falls. Clouds over the lake.
John very relaxed. More cool clouds on the way back down.
Zoe, Martha and Fat Albert hiking across a snow field. Wildflowers-queens crown, penstamens, and death camas.
John, Martha, Zoe and Rosie almost back to the trail head. I dropped Rosie back at her house. She and her husband Tim built the house, I made the stained glass in the front door. Everyone was pitching in and helping. I helped one day haul rock, and decided I would make a window instead of doing manual labor.
Rosie and Tim having dinner at the bus. Sunset on the bus.
Queens crown, moss campion, tiny white alpine flowers and Parry’s primrose.
