July 7, 2014 Stage Coach State Park, Colorado

We took off west toward Steamboat Springs.

We crossed the continental divide.  Now all the water runs into the Colorado River and goes toward the Pacific- it has so many dams it never makes it, but it heads that way. Here are the rabbit ears on Rabbit Ears Pass.

We are staying at Stage Coach State Park. I forgot how nice the Colorado State Parks are. All that lotto money is going to good use. We have electrical hookups too. We are on a peninsula at Stage Coach lake with water on both sides. We are camped right below the red arrow, below Black Tail peak.

It was 93 today. Not bad in the shade, and wonderful on the lake.  I decided to take up fishing again. Took my new pole out on my kayak. Mostly just tangled up the line so bad I came back. John helped me untangle it, but it is much shorter than it was. I never really had much luck on lakes anyway- I like rivers and streams better, and mostly it is just a good excuse to take a walk along the river. John said I looked like the princess fisherman. . .

a seed and it’s reflection on the water, sunflower, thistle and mariposa lily. My respiratory problems have gotten worse with the altitude so I emailed my Dr and he prescribed a stronger inhaler. So Tuesday  my sweet husband drove me  4 hours to Fort Collins to pick it up and 4 hours back here so that I wouldn’t have to wait to get it mail order.  we got back just in time for me to put my boat on the lake for sunset.

The moon reflected. Nice way to end a long day.
